History

ANZCHOG was first established under the name Australian and New Zealand Children’s Cancer Study Group (ANZCCSG) in 1986.  It changed its name in 2003 to the Australian and New Zealand Children’s Haematology/Oncology Group to reflect the inclusion of blood diseases as a major group of patients under the care of its members.

In 2007 ANZCHOG was successful in gaining Commonwealth Government funding through Cancer Australia’s Support for Clinical Trials program.  This has enabled ANZCHOG and ACCT to employ staff and instigate a range of projects to ensure that all children and adolescents with blood diseases and cancer have access to the broadest possible range of clinical trials.
